I have an e36 M3 and I am trying to choose between the BFG Rival, Dunlop ZII, Bridgestone RE11-A.
I know there is little info in the way of comparison tests on these tires right now.
One thing I want to be able to do is flip the tires L/R to even out camber wear.
According to my conversation with tire rack The Rival can be flipped, Z2 cannot be flipped, they also said the original Star specs should not be flipped.
I thought the original star specs and z2 could be flipped L/R?
Can anyone confirm this?

Atta boy, great size choice
Sounds like a car that sees some track use. I'd highly recommend a set of Hankook RS-3's. Discounttiredirect. They have them in stock for that size $167 each shipped:

Cheaper than the bfg, maybe faster? Cheaper than the dunlop, maybe faster? Cheaper than the bridgestone, faster.
I love my RS-3's.

The ZII and Star Spec could not be rotated. The Rival can and they are going to stand up to the abuse better because of the way the tire is constructed. After testing all day on the Rival they looked like new. We will be doing a head to head test with the RE11A, ZII and the Rival in May. I would think the Rival will be the tire to beat after driving them. We will see after the head to head. If I can help let me know.
If ordering through the web site click through one of the banners and list "Jim" as a previous contact. The Tire Rack will direct a portion of the proceeds back to the the Bimmerforums.com site.
You should throw the hankook RS-3 in there for good measure I'm sure all the autox guys across the country would like to know which one is the fastest, since lots of them run the RS-3.
With my E39, running 3 degrees - camber (rear) 235/45-17", I had even wear. Whatever tire you choose, I recommend the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. I tried 2 of the 3 tires you listed, and they only lasted 10 - 12 months tops. With my 2nd set of the Super Sports, There no better tire for me.
M Series Suspension on a 2001 530. Anyone run Nitto 555 or 555r tires? Im thinking about purchasing these 555 front and 555r for rear.
Can the ZII be dismounted and moved, i.e., from left front to right front and vice versa, to even out inside wear? They are directional so they would have to be dismounted off the wheel and turned.
BFG Rivals sound really good but I liked how my SS could handle the occasional wet track days. I've gone from SS to RS3... but don't know if I should try Rivals or go back to SS after my RS3s wear down.
so tempted to try the rivals....but i've had such good luck with the star specs that it's really tough.
then again i was extremely pleased with the re-01r's and i went to the star specs so i guess they're worth a try
